AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF BOATS AND RECREATIONAL VEHICLES IN THE STREET
Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of the City of Scottsburg, Indiana, at a regular meeting held on September 9, 2024, adopted Ordinance No. 2024-14, an ordinance prohibiting the parking of boats and recreational vehicles in the street. Key provisions of the ordinance include, but are not limited to:
•No person shall park, store, or leave unattended any boat or recreational vehicle on any street within the city limits of Scottsburg.
•This prohibition applies to all public streets, regardless of whether parking is otherwise permitted in that area.
•The following exceptions to this prohibition are permitted:
—Temporary parking for the purpose of actively loading or unloading, provided that such activity does not exceed a period of two (2) hours.
—Temporary parking for emergency repairs, provided that such repairs do not exceed a period of twenty-four (24) hours.
—Parking in areas specifically designated by the Common Council, Plan Commission, or Board of Works for the parking of boats and recreational vehicles.
This ordinance is effective as of September 25, 2024. Violations of the ordinance may result in fines and other penalties. A full copy of the ordinance is available for public inspection at the office of the City Clerk-Treasurer during regular business hours.
