PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice of Public Hearing Upon Petition for Variance under the master plan zoning ordinance of Jackson County, Indiana.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Zoning Appeals of Jackson County, IN on the 13th day of August, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. EST, at the Jackson County Planning & Zoning Office located at 111 S. Main St., Brownstown, IN will conduct a public hearing upon petition for a Variance under the Master Plan Zoning Ordinance of Jackson County, Indiana.

Interested persons may appear in person or by counsel to present their views upon the proposed variance. Written suggestions or objections to this variance may be filed with the Secretary of the County Plan Commission at, or before the hearing and will be considered by the County Plan Commission.

The hearing may be continued from time to time as the Commission may deem necessary. A copy of the petition of the variance is on file in the office of the BZA at 111 S. Main St., Brownstown, IN for public examination. 812-358-6109.

The Nature of the Requested Variance is:

Petitioner varying from section 9-1 (A) to construct an Accessory Building (Pole) with living quarters for mother. Petitioner would like to purchase existing home from mother & construct Accessory Building with living quarters to accommodate mother. Once mother relocates or is no longer occupying, the proposed structure will revert exclusively to an accessory building.

The structure is already built, and Planning & Zoning had it brought to our attention it was built and on the property line.
