ON PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO CHARGES OF SCOTTS BURG WATER UTILITY
Property owners, ratepayers and other interested parties in or served, or to be served, by the Department of Waterworks of the City of Scottsburg, Indiana are hereby notified that an ordinance amending the tap fee charged by the Department of Waterworks (the “Ordinance”), was introduced at a meeting of the Common Council held on April 22, 2024. At a meeting of the Common Council to be held at 5:00 p.m. on June 10, 2024, in the City Hall Council Room, 2 E. McClain Avenue, Scottsburg Indiana, there will be a public hearing on the matter of the tap fee amendment and consideration of adoption of the Ordinance which provides in part:
1. Increase of the current tap free from $1,250 to $1,800; and
2. Prohibition against prepayment of tap fees.
All other fees, as set forth in Ordinance Number 2021-23 and passed October 5, 2021, will remain the same.
The charges are necessary in order to provide the Utility with sufficient operation, maintenance, and capital improvement revenues to provide adequate water facilities for the City.
At the public hearing and prior to final adoption of the Ordinance, all interested parties may appear and be heard. A copy of the Ordinance may be examined at the office of the Clerk-Treasurer at 2 E. McClain Avenue, Scottsburg Indiana.
