NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION

Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the City of Austin, Scott County, Indiana, (the “City”) that the proper legal officers of the Austin Common Council (the “Council”) will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 6:00 PM at City Hall, 80 W. Main St., Austin, Indiana, 47102. The purpose of the public hearing is for the Council to consider an additional appropriation in excess of the budget for the current year as follows:

ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION REQUEST(S)

ARP Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (Fund #1176001176 ) $70,000

Taxpayers appearing at the meeting shall have a right to be heard in respect to this additional appropriation. The additional appropriations as finally made will be referred to the Department of Local Government Finance (“DLGF”). DLGF will make a written determination as to the sufficiency of funds to support the appropriations made within fifteen (15) days of receipt of a Certified Copy of the action taken.

NOTICE OF EXECUTION OF LEASE

Pursuant to action previously taken by the Board of School Trustees (the “Board”) of Scott County School District 2 (the “School Corporation”), a Lease Agreement (the “Lease”) between the School Corporation and Scott County School District 2 Middle School Building Corporation (the “Building Corporation”) was executed and entered into on February 28, 2023. The Lease covers the site of the proposed renovation of Scottsburg Elementary School in Scottsburg, Indiana. The applicant has requested a Land Use Variance at 436 Persimmon Drive. They have lots of animals on their property, which they keep in their house. The animal control officer was called, and they thought they would apply for a Kennel License. It was then brought to the Planning Zoning Dept. attention that this is when they would have to apply for a Land Use Variance to board animals as a kennel in their home, even though they are their own animals. They do not board other people’s animals. The Ordinance just states you can not have 4 or more without a Kennel License.
