The Plan Commission of the City of Seymour, Indiana will hold a public hearing on the 9th day of March 2023 at 5:00 p.m. & the Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing on the 28th day of March 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour City Hall, Council Chambers, Seymour, Indiana (via GoToMeeting https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/384057085) on an “Application to Vary from Land Use” for real estate within the jurisdiction of the Board of Zoning Appeals. A copy of the application is on file and available for review at the Department of Planning & Zoning of the City of Seymour, Indiana.

The hearing is open to the public, all adjoining property owners, and any other interested person. Interested persons may appear and offer comments on the application at the hearing. Any person who chooses to submit written comments or objections may do so at the Department of Planning & Zoning, 301-309 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana before 4:00 p.m. on the day of the hearing.

The name of the applicant is Kevin Burke, and the owner is the same. The affected real estate is 714 W. 5th St in Seymour, IN which fronts 5th St. The present zoning is R-1.

The applicant has requested a Land Use Variance at 714 W. 5th St. to turn it into a “vacation” spot. The house was the birthplace of John Mellencamp and Mr. Burke feels it would be an interesting place for people to rent out. Rentals to be no more than 14 days or less..

NOTICE OF LETTING OF SCHOOL BUS TRANSPORTATION CONTRACTS

Notice is hereby given to all interested persons that the Board of School Trustees of Scott County School District 2 will receive sealed proposals on four (4) year contracts for the transportation of Scott County School District 2 children along designated routes.

Until Wednesday, March 8, 2023, sealed proposals will be received at the District Office located at 375 East McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, Indiana, 47170, until 11:00 a.m., prevailing time.

Proposals also may be mailed to Mr. Bobby Riley, Director of Transportation, Scott County School District 2, 375 East McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, Indiana 47170; however, mailed proposals must be received in the District Office before 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

Sealed proposals will be opened and read aloud at 12:00 p.m., prevailing time, on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. After receiving and opening of the sealed proposals, the proposal process will be adjourned until March 11, 2023, at which time the Board of Trustees shall accept or reject qualified bids, including the option to reject bids in order to negotiate with one or more bidders. The proposal and negotiating procedure and definite specifications which describe the routes to be traveled, the equipment to be furnished and other conditions which are a part of the proposal and negotiating process and which will be required in the transportation contract will be on file and available at the Office of the Superintendent of Scott County School District 2 at 375 East McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, Indiana 47170, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22. Those persons interested in submitting a proposal for a transportation contract are referred to the Summary of Transportation Contract Proposal Process and Conditions and Specifications for School Bus Transportation Contracts, 2023-24 through 2026-27, for additional information.
