Notice is hereby given that the Members of the City of Austin Common Council (“Council”) and the Austin Building Corporation (“Building Corporation”) will jointly convene on December 19, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. at Austin City Hall, 80 West Main Street, Austin, Indiana 47102, to conduct a special meeting. During the special meeting, the Council and Building Corporation will conduct a public hearing to receive and consider comments from the public on the City of Austin, Indiana through its Building Corporation applying for loan assistance from the United States Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Development to finance the City of Austin Wastewater Plant Solar Project. The Project is for the construction and/or installation of certain potential energy related upgrades, such as photovoltaic energy arrays, to facilities owned by the City. If approved, the Project would serve all ratepayers of the City of Austin sanitary sewage utility works. During the public hearing, the public will have an opportunity to become acquainted with the proposed Project and to comment on such items as economic and environmental impacts, service areas, alternatives to the Project, or other issues that may arise.
