The Crothersville high School Alumni Banquet $1,000 scholarship was awarded to Leah Schill and Cami Plummer was awarded the $500 scholarship when CHS alumni met Saturday evening in the CHS Cafetorium.
There were 130 alumni in attendance to reminisce and catch up on past times. Lucille’s of Crothersville catered the meal.
David Schill, the evening’s emcee, began a moment of silence to start the program to remember those alumni that had passed away.
The 50-Year Class of 1961 shared their past school memoirs, times of inspirations, and blessing for the upcoming Senior Class of 2011. The 25-Year Class of 1986 were recognized and shared their opportunities and experiences to challenge the Seniors to never give up and keep going.
All the classes that were in attendance were recognized with the oldest class member being from the CHS Class of 1935.
As the evening concluded, the Peters’ family made a generous donation to the CHS Alumni Association to help prepare for the 2012 Scholarship fund in memory of loved ones that had passed away.
According to alumni spokesperson Tracy Karnes, next year’s Alumni Banquet date has tentatively been set for May 19, 2012 at the Crothersville High School Cafetorium.
