Jackson County Community Theatre will present their dinner-theatre musical, “Xanadu,” at The Pines Evergreen Room in Seymour on February 17, 18, 24, and 25, and a non-dinner matinee on Sunday, February 19.
Based on the Universal Pictures cult classic movie of the same title, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, Xanadu is hilarity on wheels for anyone who has ever wanted to feel inspired. Xanadu follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time, the first ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it’s 1980.) But when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds. Cast members are Skyla Fields, Curtis Nowling, Matt Nieman, Kat Hardwick, Stephanie Strothmann, Mars Rogers, Brinna Sharp, Natalie Whan, and Job Willman. Paul Angle is stage director and Ron Duncan is music director. Zach Thompson is assistant director, Karen Haas is production manager, and Megan Keller is costumer.
Tickets are on sale online through the JCCT website www.jcct.org, or by calling 812-358-5228.
Dinner service begins at 6:00 PM on the Friday and Saturday performances. All tickets are $36. The non-dinner matinee on Sunday, February 19 will begin at 2:30 PM. Matinee tickets are $16 for all patrons. An additional $1 fee will be added to tickets purchased by credit card.
