During a special town council meeting last Tuesday, Feb. 17, a housing addition has been proposed for a 10 acre parcel along County Road 1025 E (Bethany Road) on Crothersville’s southwest side.
Bridge Construction of Scottsburg proposes to develop a subdivision on a portion of a 74 acre parcel in the 6000 Block of S 1025 E.
The owner of the parcel, Greg & Angela Hoevener of rural Vernon Township, have asked to town to annex the north 40 acres of the parcel to provide water and sewer.

Bridge proposes to purchase 10 acres of the property for the development.
They intend to build, and sell lots to other contractors to build homes. All homes built will be at least 1,200 sq ft, with a garage. Homes will have sidewalks, and curbs/gutters that will direct storm water west on the property to retention ponds that Bridge will construct.
While the lots will have square footage that meets Town requirements, but the street frontage is short by five feet.
By a vote of 4-0 the council approved an exception to allow 60 ft road frontage rather than 65’ on the housing addition
In conjunction with the housing announcement Greg & Angela Hoevener requested the town to annex 40 acres of the property on the west side of CR 1025 and provide water and sewer to the property. The council unanimously approved the request and will begin the legal process to voluntarily annex the Hoevener property into the town limits.
