The Jackson County History Center will host an Old Fashioned Christmas Open House on Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the old log Meeting House in the Pioneer Village on East Walnut St. in Brownstown. You will see old-fashioned, handmade Christmas Ornaments and decorations and have an opportunity to enjoy traditional Christmas carols and music while sampling homemade treats. Come and experience an old-time Christmas beside the fireplace.
You are welcome to bring a homemade Christmas decoration, cir 1800’s all natural materials (no plastic), for the tree. If you would like to donate something for the tree and cannot be there they can be left at the Genealogy Library, 415.5 S Poplar St (behind Huck’s) or at the Heller Museum 207 E. Walnut St. The library is open Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the Heller Museum 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
The History Center is located in Brownstown, one block east of the Main St (U.S. 50) and Walnut St traffic light (The Peoples Bank), northeast of the Jackson County Courthouse Square.
