A new VA Healthcare Center has been temporarily located at 279 N. Gardner Street (US 31) in Scottsburg and will provide primary care and mental health services for veterans, 9th District Congressman Baron Hill said this week.
“This is a critical service that will be brought to Southern Indiana veterans,” Hill said. “Veterans will have easier access to primary care and mental health services.”
Veterans may call (812) 752-8375 for additional information or to schedule an appointment.
It is anticipated that renovations to the permanent clinic location at 1467 N. Scott Valley Drive in Scottsburg will be complete by spring 2009. At that time, the VA Healthcare Center will provide primary care, mental health care and other preventative and ancillary services.
A team of approximately 40 VA health care professionals will staff the clinic, which will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the exception of holidays.
“I look forward to the opening of the full-service, state-of-the-art facility next year,” Hill said.
