The Crothersville Helping Hoosiers 4-H Club met on Thursday, November 18, and toured the Crothersville Clients Choice Food Pantry. The tour was led by volunteer organizer, Mary Jo Isenhower.
She talked about the number of clients served each month, hours of operations, how they get donations, where food is purchased and from and how those in the community can help.
The club filled a grocery cart with donated food items for the food pantry.
Mackenzie Farmer presented her 2010 4-H personality project featuring the food pantry to Isenhower for publicity purposes.
Also during the November meeting, McKindree Johnson gave a demonstration on how to wash a cat and Mackenzie Farmer gave a demonstration on how to make popsicle stick puzzles. Refreshments were served by Johnson and Farmer. Derrick Maxie led recreation and Olivia Smedley gave the health & safety lesson.
During the group’s October meeting the club elected officers for the 2010-2011 4-H year. Officers elected are: President, Kelsey Hoskins; Vice-President, Kaitlyn Hoevener; Secretary, Mackenzie Farmer; Health & Safety Leaders, Olivia Smedley and Noah Hoskins; Song Leaders, Whitney Wienhorst & Derrick Howard; Recreation Leaders, Derrick Maxie and Kalynda Hoevener.
