Republicans gained complete control of Scott County government following the results of the Nov. 8 General Election.
Republican Greg Prince ousted incumbent Democrat Commissioner John C. Lizenby 3,697 to 3,242 to give Republicans all three county commissioners seats.
Republicans swept all four district seats for county council. Jonathan White (858) defeated Democrat Raleigh Campbell Jr. (820) for the District 1 council spot.
Republican John Miller Jr. (1,165) defeated Jessica Allen-Feder (568) for the District 2 council seat.
John M. Collins (1,379) defeated Democrat Mike Zollman (695) for the District 3 council post.
Republican James (J.R.) Ward (738) defeated Democrat David Brunner (658) for the District 4 council spot.
Republican Jennifer Rode Hamelman (4,116) defeated Democrat Teresa Baker Vannarsdall (2,635) to be elected Scott County Auditor.
The lone bright spot for Democrats in Scott County on election night was incumbent Sheriff Jerry D. Goodin (4,191) fending off a challenge by Republican Matt W. Busick (2,820).
In Indiana House races in Scott County, Republican Zach Payne won re-election in Scott County and District 66 over Democrat challenger Nancy McDevitt.
Republican Jim Lucas won re-election in Scott County and District 69 over Democrat Chad Hubbard.
In Jennings Township races Democrat Steve Sadler (957) defeated Jeremy E. Arnold (744) to be elected Jennings Township Trustee. Republican Ronnie Howard and Democrats Iva Gasaway and Mahala Baker were the three highest vote getters to be elected to the Jennings Township Board.
In Lexington Township, Republican Rusty D. Hubbard (600) defeated incumbent Democrat Danny Basham (408) for Township Trustee.
In Vienna Township, incumbent Republican Trustee Scott Zellers (2,062) defeated Democrat Chuck Sebastian (840).
