The northwest Jackson County community of Freetown will hold a three-day Freedom Festival this Friday through Sunday. The celebration will be held at the Freetown Park off Columbus Pike near the Pershing Township Fire Station.
There will be patriotic tributes throughout the event.
The event fruns from 6-9:30 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Music will be provided by Don Pedigo & the Coyotes, the Fabulous HickBillys, Isaac Kenneth, the Long Family Singers, and A Burden Lifted band.
Firemen will be frying fish and there will be a hog roast.
Activities include a water slide, kids games with prizes, a baby contest, a car show, cake walk, Wild West Show, obstacle course race, a tractor drive, a pie eating contest, bouncy house, an a veterans’ display.
There will be a parade on Saturday and fireworks.
