The Jackson County Recycling District and the Rumpke Landfill in Medora will be sponsoring a “Free Landfill Day” for Jackson County residents on Saturday, June 4, from 6 a.m. to noon at the Rumpke Landfill , 546 South County Road 870 West, Medora.
Acceptable items include residential, non-hazardous household trash, furniture, appliances (with or without Freon removed) and automobile and light truck tires.
Unacceptable items includes electronics, televisions, hazardous wastes, burn barrels that have been burned in the previous week, batteries, paint, any liquid, concrete, dirt or rock.
Truck, tractor, racecar, and other large tires will be accepted, but the normal rate per tire will be charged.
This is for Jackson County residents only. Driver’s licenses will be checked at the gate.
