Jennings Township Trustee Steve Sadler is adding a Blessings Box to contribute to the community to obtain free food items. The Blessings Box will be ready for the public to use This Saturday, March 30, outside of the Jennings Township Trustee’s office at 195 W. Main Street in Austin.
Sadler said that the Blessings Box allows those who can not get a voucher to cover food costs to access food for free. The box is also open to the public to be able to add to the stock of the items as well, however the items that are placed in the box will not be contributed by the Trustee office.
“I kept sending those in need to the other boxes throughout town, so I felt this would be a better way to help everyone,” Sadler said.
The box was also built by Daniel and Jenni Salyers with the lettering done by Sara Leep Holwager. The contribution of materials is donated by Jordan L. Spears of the Martine Corps League, Scott County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6582, Scottsburg American Legion Post 234 and the Henryville American Legion Post 105.
