A citizen’s tip of believed drug activity led to the arrest of four Scott county residents in Scottsburg last Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Acting on the anonymous tip State Police Detectives were observing a residence at 532 Ray Street in Scottsburg on Wednesday afternoon after receiving information on believed suspicious activity occurring there.
After observing suspicious activity, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle shortly after the vehicle left the residence. During the traffic stop, the driver, Debra Groenenboom of Scottsburg, was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernailia, according to ISP Cpl. Carey Huls.
Huls reported that information from the traffic stop lead officers to assist the Scott County Probation Department in a probation check at the residence on Ray Street. During the probation check additional drugs and drug paraphernalia were found, Huls said.
Incarcerated at Scott County Jail were:
Debra Groenenboom, 42, of Scottsburg, charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.
Valerie Roll, 33, of Scottsburg, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, visiting a common nuisance.
James E. Barnett, 32, of Austin, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, visiting a common nuisance.
Benjamin Coomer, 48, Scottsburg, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance.
