The Community Foundation of Jackson County has named Jordan Richart its donor engagement manager.
Richart will begin his new role on June 9.
“I am excited to join the staff at the Community Foundation of Jackson County and work with them alongside our Board of Directors and donors to continue to grow our community to ensure Jackson County remains a beautiful place to live and work,” Richart said. “I am honored to join an organization that has had— and will continue to have— such a positive impact on our community”
“Jordan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a communicator and a real knack for working well with folks,” said Dan Davis President & CEO of the Foundation. “He will help the Foundation continue to push our community forward as we strive to live out our motto of growing tomorrows together.”
Announcement of Richart joining the Foundation staff was accompanied by two other changes at the Foundation.
Long-time Vice President Sue Smith retired effective May 9 after more than 27 years of service to the Foundation and the greater Jackson County community, and with Smith’s departure, Lori Miller’s role with the Foundation has changed. Miller has taken on many of Smith’s duties of managing the processing of grants and scholarships and will remain in a part-time role. Miller has been with the Foundation for 20 years.
Richart has more than a decade of experience in journalism and public relations, having served as the public relations manager of the Jackson County Visitor Center since 2019.
During his time at the Visitor Center, Richart played a pivotal role in marketing Jackson County through traditional advertisements and media while growing the organization’s presence on social media.
Before his service at the visitor center, Richart was a reporter for The Tribune in Seymour covering breaking news, crime, courts, county government and general assignment.
Richart also has shown a commitment to community service through time as a member of the board of directors of Seymour Main Street as well as committee assignments for Seymour Oktoberfest, Crossroads Acoustic Fest, Seymour Main Street Promotions Committee, Jackson County United Way, Immanuel Lutheran Church and more.
Richart is a native of Seymour and graduate of Seymour High School and Ivy Tech Community College. He and his wife, Erica, live in Seymour.
