The 56th annual Ft. Vallonia Days will swell the population of the small community of Vallonia by many fold this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18-19.

Thee daytime festival will be held from 9-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday.

Pioneer crafts and demonstration will highlight spinning, quilting, braiding rugs, model steam and old gas engines, and there will be food galore.

The Mick Gray Memorial Tail Ride will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, The baby contest will be at 10 a.m. and there’ll be live music all day starting at noon.

The Parade will step off at 1 p.m. with a tomahawk and knife throw at 3 p.m. followed by the Country Kickers western dancing at 4 p.m. The day’s events conclude at 5 p.m. with Karaoke.

Sunday’s events begin at 10 a.m. with a community church service in the Vallonia Gym. Sparkles & Spurs western dancers will perform at noon and a Posse Re-enactment will occur at the same time inside the fort.

A 5K Run/Walk will step off at 1 p.m. and the Brownstown Central High School Show Choir performs at 1:30. 

Live worship music will be at 3 p.m. and raffle drawings will conclude the festival at 4 p.m.

Admission to the festival is free. Vallonia is located about 4 miles south of Brownstown on State Road 135.
