Five men were sentenced to prison terms last Thursday in Scott Circuit Court. Four were charged with drug related crimes, one was sentenced as a repeat domestic batterer, according to Scott County Prosecutor Chris Owens.
•George R. Boyle Jr., 41, of Scottsburg was convicted of possession of between 10-28 grams of methamphetamine. Judge Jason Mount sentenced him to 12 years with six years to be served in prison and six years on probation.
•Richard J. Bramer, 57, of Underwood was convicted of dealing in methamphetamine and Mount sentenced him to 12 years with six years to be served in prison followed by six years of probation.
•Gavin Wyatt, 22, of Henryville was convicted of dealing in a narcotic drug. He was sentenced to 10 years with the entirety of the sentence to be served in prison.
•James Johnson, 66, of Austin was convicted of possession of 10 to 28 grams of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 10 years with eight years to be served in prison followed by two years of probation.
•Roger Cole, 27, of Austin was convicted of domestic battery with a prior conviction. Judge Mount sentenced him to six years with four years to be served in prison and two years of probation upon his release.
“Our office continues to work with law enforcement in our community to see that people who violate the law are held accountable for their criminal behaviors,” Owens said following the sentencing. “We work hard each day to resolve cases in a way that helps keep Scott County safe and provides treatment to those offenders who deserve it.”
Owens extended his thanks to the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, Austin Police Department, and the Indiana State Police for their work that led to the convictions.
