Five residents of the east side of Crothersville have submitted letters of
interest to fill the unexpired term on the Crothersville School Board which
occurred when Kendra Smith resigned after moving from the school district.
Local school board president Robert Spicer said that the five had sent
letters of interest prior to the May 1 deadline.
Spicer declined to named the five applicants.
He said copies of each letter were forwarded to the school board members for
their review.
“Each board member is now sifting through the merits of each of the
applicants,” said Spicer. “I am hoping that we would be able to appoint the
succeeding candidate at next Monday’s (May 11) regular school board
meeting.”
State law provides that the remaining school board members appoint a
replacement whenever their is a vacancy.
