1st Graders Share Recipes For Their Favorite Thanksgiving Dish
In an annual Thanksgiving tradition, the Times presents first grader recipes for the holiday meal. We thank teachers from Crothersville Karra Hecamp and Ashley Spicer and Austin educators Tonya Wass and Michelle Smith for their help with this writing assignment.
Turkey Zarian B.
Cook in the oven for I think 10 seconds. Grab the leg off the turkey and eat it! Do the same with chicken.
Turkey Casper B.
Catch a turkey and cook it for 5 minutes. Eat it!
Stuffing Reid B.
Put green beans in it. Cook it until it gets soft.
Turkey Ava S.
Put it in the oven for 20 minutes. Take it out, get a fork and cut it up. Then take a bite and then the whole family digs in.
Mommy’s Famous
Mac and Cheese Addy B.
Put a lot of cheese on the noodles. Cook it for 10 minutes.
Stuffing Lucan C.
Get vegetables and gravy stuff. Cook it for 20 minutes. Grammy adds the secret ingredients which are salt and pepper. Also add something else. Then eat it!

Cook it in the oven for 100 hours. Eat it!

Well, pumpkin pie is my favorite. My mom makes it. I don’t really know how she makes it. I don’t really watch people cook. Sometimes I help her cook but not on Thanksgiving. Um, sugar? And pumpkin. And I really don’t know.

My favorite chicken dinner is chicken. My nana makes it really juicy. She makes it how she usually does, but I don’t know how she makes chicken. All I know is she puts it in the oven and that makes it really juicy.
