Howard Womack of Crothersville reported the area’s first ripe tomato thus gaining him bragging rights among area gardeners.
Womack called to notify the local newspaper at 1:37 p.m. on Monday, June 3, making his the first ‘official’ ripe tomato.
He said his secret to gardening is rabbit manure generously supplied by his family’s pet rabbits.
