The Crothersville High School FFA officers conducted a fire safety convocation for the 4th grade students last week. Members of the Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department were on hand to demonstrate how they rescue people from burning buildings and the gear that they have to wear to fight a fire.
Students were given a fire safety packet made by the FFA which included a grid to make an escape plan from their home. After instruction, students took a pledge to become Junior Firefighters. The convocation concluded with a tour of a fire truck.
