A Seymour woman was charged with dealing methamphetamine and other drug and gun charges following a brief chase by Crothersville Police.
Crothersville Police officer Jonathan Tabor was patrolling shortly after 11 p.m. recently when he reported observing a white SUV with no rear lights traveling south on US 31 near the I-65 interchange south of Crothersville.
Tabor said the vehicle turned onto I-65 southbound and he pursued the vehicle with his emergency lights and siren activated.
Tabor reported the vehicle was swerving back and forth in its travel lane then pulled off the interstate at the Austin exit going westbound on State Road 256 where the driver came to a stop
The driver of the vehicle, Jill Celeste Pike, 46, of Seymour told Tabor that she had a felony arrest warrant in Jackson County for failure to appear in court.
During a search of the vehicle Tabor said he located just under 4 ounces of a white crystal substance that Pike said was methamphetamine.
Digital scales were located in the vehicle, along with a plastic bag of pills later identified as hydrocodone, a syringe and $4,162 in cash.
Tabor reported that a .38 caliber pistol was located in the vehicle which was later found to be stolen out of Kentucky.
Pike was placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Jail where she was booked in at 1:43 a.m. on June 30. She faces charges of dealing methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drug, possession of a handgun by a felon.
She had an initial appearance on July 13 before Jackson Circuit Court Judge Richard Poynter who set her bond at $20,000 cash only. As of the newspaper press deadline she remains incarcerated in Jackson County Jail.
