All adults and teens, can take part in a series of free genealogy workshops, Genealogy Detectives, this fall at the Seymour Library. Each program takes place from 10-11:30 a.m. Thursdays in the Classroom, and there is a limit of 12 participants.
Part 1: September 19, is Timeline Development; Part 2: October 10, is Searching Online Beyond Ancestry & Heritage-Quest, and Part 3: October 24, is Library, Courthouse & Archive Research. People may attend one or more sessions.

The classes are taught by retired Local History Specialist and current county Historian and Genealogist Charlotte Sellers. Participants should bring charts about families they want to research and will learn what to do to begin and where to look when obituaries and census entries don’t tell enough. They will learn about databases, sources & techniques available to advance their searches.
