Erica Doyle, 17 years old of Crothersville, was the recipient of the 2009 IQHA Award Horse, Zips One Hot Chip (Giovonni). Erica is the daughter of Bige and Julia Doyle of Crothersville.
This was Indiana Quarter Horse Association’s 42nd year for the Horse Award program. IQHA has a yearling donated each year to be awarded to a lucky 4-H member. The horse donated is to be their 4-H project for the next year or years to come. Many of the past recipients have shown the award horses in many open, IQHA and AQHA shows.
4-Hers answer ten questions in essay format using a hundred words or less. Judges then read the applications and choose the top ten for interviews. Interviews were held at the State Fair along with the presentation awarding the horse.
The yearling that was presented this year was donated by Denny and Terry Robinson of Francesville, Indiana.
