A Seymour High School senior captured the 2010 Jackson County Junior Miss title on Saturday night in Brownstown and a Crothersville girl was first runner-up.
Caitlin Nicole Mills was named the new Jackson County Junior Miss. Erica Doyle of Crothersville was the first runner-up.
Mills follows in the footsteps of 15 past Jackson County Junior Misses. That list includes Katie Stam, the 2005 winner who went on to win the Indiana Junior Miss title. Stam, who is the present Miss America, finished second runner-up in the America’s Junior Miss competition. Devin Wayman-Shirley was the 2002 Indiana Junior Miss.
Mills is the daughter of Doug and Collette Mills of Seymour.
Erica Doyle, daughter of Bige and Julia Doyle, Crothersville
More than $10,000 in cash scholarships were given to the 20 young women in this year’s competition.
That total includes the $3,000 that went to Mills for being named 2009 Jackson County Junior Miss. Doyle received $2,000 in cash scholarships.
