All that no longer useful high tech electronic gear you have been amassing can be removed from your closet or garage and recycled in a special three hour collection this Saturday, Sept. 26.
The Jackson County Recycling District is hosting the event on Second Street in Seymour next to the Jackson County Health Department from 9 a.m. to noon, according to executive director Debbie Hackman.
Accepted for recycling will be computers, keyboards, CPUs, monitors, printers, copy machines, televisions, DVD, CD, VHS players, satellite units, cell phones, other miscellaneous electronics
Additionally during the event, residents can have documents securely shredding. Hackman said there can be no binder clips, binders or laminated paper included in the material to be shredded, however, staples, paperclips and file folders okay.
Also new or lightly used shoes and boots can be brought in for recycling with profit from shoe collection going to Red Sky Rescue, Hackman said.
