Last Wednesday, Dec. 8, around 6 a.m., deputies from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 6438 Sanders Road northeast of Austin near Crothersville Road. Corporal Paul Clute earlier received a citizen tip of reported drug dealing and stolen property at the residence.
After the search was completed, deputies arrested the occupants of the home. Ricky Lawless, 43 of Austin was arrested on a Scott Circuit Court warrant for three counts of dealing in methamphetamine, and new charges of maintaining a common nuisance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of an altered firearm. Deputies also arrested Kelly Campbell, 32, of Austin for maintaining a common nuisance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of an altered firearm.
While searching the residence, in addition to drugs and paraphernalia, deputies also located several pieces of jewelry, collectible stamps, coins, and paper currency that deputies are asking residents to help identify if they or someone they know have had recent thefts.

The investigation involved assistance from the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office on the search and arrest warrants.
Lawless and Campbell were incarcerated in Scott County Jail.
