The Crothersville Senior High School Thespian Troupe and The Crothersville Town Players will combine artistic efforts to present a ‘Celebration of Crothersville History’ at a Dinner Theater on Friday, April 4, in honor of Crothersville History month.
The doors to Hamacher Hall will open at 6pm with the dinner being served at 7. The cost for the event is $15. and will include the performance, a three course dinner, and gifts from area table sponsors.
The performance will include cast members from both groups, with the entire cast in full character the night of the performance.
The living History cast includes: Brenda Holzworth as Nancy Noakes-Hamacher, Brayden Growe as Preston Rider, Jesse Law as Dr. William H. Warner. Savannah Basil as Sina Cox, Derrick Maxie as Albert Nelson, Kitara Robbins as GeorgeAnna Morris-Tobias, Rusty McClain as George Mitchell, and Kala Goodman portraying Anna Bard.
Local Bluegrass duo ‘Rice Street Boys’, will be performing a few selections.
“At this event, dinner guests will have the added enjoyment of conversing with charactor actors portraying actual townspeople from Crothersville’s rich, historic past,” said theatre director Marcia Fleetwood.
“April has been designated as Crothersville History Month, and it is very fitting that we see portrayals of some of the people from our town’s past at this time,” CTP president Brenda Holzworth. “We are certain that those attending will enjoy this event as much as we are enjoying preparing for it. We welcome the inclusion of the CHS Thespian Troupe in an event that emphasizes both history and theater arts.”
Dinner is being catered by volunteers, and will include tossed salad, grilled chicken breast, scalloped potatoes, green beans, assorted desserts, and drinks.
The Crothersville Historical and Cultural Arts Association is a non-profit group which depends on fundraisers and donations to maintain programs available to the citizens in and around Crothersville.
A second presentation is being planned for Friday, April 11, at the Crothersville Senior High School stage.
