•Booth fees are being waived for all Crothersville non-profit/non-food organizations. However, a non-food vendor applicaton needs to be filled out so booth space can be arranged. All Crothesville non-profits are encouraged to stop by Town Hall and pick up an applicaton ASAP and turn in.
•The 50s-60s Sock Hop will be held in the CHS big gym 7-10 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2008. The Class of 2009 under the direction of Terry Richey will be sponsoring the event. The Class of 2010 with class sponsor Linda Maxie will be serving the concessions. Price for admission will be $1 or donation at the door. WSLM DJ Becky White will provide the tunes, dancers will provide the socks, and together, a nostalgic era will return to the CHS gymnasium for a few short hours. 50s-60s grads from everywhere are particularly encouraged to attend and recreate “This Magic Moment’ from the 50s-60s era. A Line-Dancing demonstration is being planned prior to the Sock Hop. More info on that activity will be forcoming.
•Ray Bowling of Common Ground Sound is busy at work setting up the line-up of musical entertainment to be held at the Bard Street Park Thursday-Saturday of the Sesquicentennial. Thursday: 5-10 p.m.; Friday 5-11 p.m.; and Saturday 10 a.m.-11 p.m.
•A “3-on-3” Basketball Tournament is scheduled for 9 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, September 13, in the gym at CHS. Tim Riley is making all the arrangements. For more info, contact Tim at 793-9700.

•Though the last fund-raising dinner was held Saturday, Aug. 16, the balance of the event’s expenses must be paid. For anyone who has not been able to contribute but would like to now, please stop by Aunt Samantha’s Gift Shop located across from the Dollar General Store or at Town Hall in Crothersville. To be accepted, the check must be made payable to Community Foundation of Jackson County (CFJC), with CSC/CARD in the memo line at the bottom of the check.
