Acting on a dispatch from Indiana State Dispatch about a red Ford Mustang heading north on I-65 from Kentucky with illegal drugs in the vehicle, two Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped the vehicle at the 59.5 mile marker north of Seymour.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, Reserve Deputy Michael Maxie stopped the Mustang for failing to use turn signal to change lanes. Deputy Ben Rudolph and his K-9 partner Nyx arrived to assist.

Maxie reported the driver, Timmy Logan, 47, of the 2500 block of Keystone Ave. in Indianapolis was acting nervous and making a lot of movements inside the vehicle, according to the probable cause affidavit.
When Logan was advised that a K9 would be going around his vehicle, he told officers that he had just traveled with his Uncle who was arrested in Campbellsburg, KY on five warrants from Taylor County. Logan told officers that a bag in the front passenger seat was his uncle’s and Logan was unsure what was in it.
Nyx completed a free-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted for the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, according to the court document.
The search of the vehicle resulted in several syringes, marijuana, paraphernalia, methamphetamine and heroin cut with fentanyl. The total amount of the drugs weighed 7.1 grams, officer reported.
Logan was charged with possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine and possession of syringes all felonies and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia in Jackson Circuit Court.
Logan was booked into Jackson County Jail at 11:07 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, and released a 10:08 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, after posting a $1,500 cash only bond
