An overdose in Austin earlier in May has resulted in the arrest of a Scottsburg woman on drug dealing charges, according to Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin.
Austin Police and the Scott County Sheriff’s Department began a cooperative investigation into the incident on June 4, which resulted in the arrest on Monday, June 17, of Mindy White, 38, of Scottsburg charged with dealing in a narcotic drug, and maintaining a common nuisance
This is the third arrest related to an overdose that has been made by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office since Sheriff Goodin made it mandatory for his officers to investigate all overdoses to discover the source and dealer of the drug involved in the overdose.
That same day, investigating a tip of drug activity at Austin Village Apartments, Deputy Joe Baker and Deputy Johnney Coomer went to investigate.
Their investigation there led to the arrest of two women on drug charges.
Maranda Parrish, 27, of Lexington was arrested for possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.
Stephanie Ridner, 28, of Austin was arrested for possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.
Before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, a Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a male laying on the ground near the Tub Club on North Gardner Street in Scottsburg. After checking on the man’s physical condition an investigation resulted in Jeffery Ambrose, 27, of Hazard, KY being arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia.
Later that same evening, a sheriff’s deputy stopped a bicycle rider riding in the wrong lane on State Road 3 in Lexington. After talking with the bicyclist. the deputy arrested Richard Freeman, 38, of Marysville, for possession of methamphetamine.
