The Jackson County United Way is preparing for the 15th annual Day of Caring to be held Tuesday May 10. This annual event to provides volunteers to local partner agencies and not for profit agencies throughout Jackson County
All Jackson County not for profit agencies are encouraged to complete a project form and return it to the JCUW office no later than March 14. Donations for this event are needed as campaign donations are not used to support capital improvements. Senior citizens or disabled residents needing assistance must be recommended by the Agency on Aging, Area 11 or a county church or organization.
Any agency not receiving information about the projects are urged to contact the United Way office, 522-5450 or stop by the office on the third floor of the Community Agency Building to pick up a project form. Requests received by March 14 will be given first priority.
Volunteers from the community are also being recruited. Any service club, church, youth group, school group, business, or other interested group or individual are encouraged to contact the United Way office to register as a volunteer.
Questions concerning the event can be directed to the JCUW office, 522-5450. The Day of Caring Steering Committee will meet Wednesday, March 16, at noon at the United Way office to review project requests and determine needed supplies.
