Ideal fall weather brought hundreds of people to the Crothersville Countryside Park this past Friday & Saturday for haunted hayrides, glow walks, food and treats.
“The weekend was a great success,” said Ron Foster, president of the Crothersville Parks Board. “We had not anticipated such a good turn out. People were willingly waiting in the haunted hayride line the whole time.”
The organizers ran out of food both nights as a result of the large crowd.
No attendance numbers were available. “But we passed out 730 glow necklaces over the two nights,” he said.
“I think it is safe to say this is the biggest event that Crothersville has seen in many, many years,” said Foster “We had people from the community, people from surrounding communities and people from far away for the fun things for all of us, right here at home.”
Planning for the event began just a few weeks ago as the first organized park event by the Crothersville Parks Board and as a result of volunteers and support from the town, became a highly successful, and well received community event.
“We hope to plan some future events to keep the momentum going,” said Foster
