The 46th Crothersville Red White & Blue Festival will be held June 7-10 on the Crothersville School grounds.
Started in 1976 as the community’s bicentennial celebration the event has continued annually (with the exception of the 2020 Covid pandemic) the second weekend of June.
Festival director Christie Schill released a preliminary schedule of this year’s activities.
Booths will be open Wednesday, June 7 from 5-9 p.m.
The festival officially kicks off at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, and the Red, White & Blue Festival Prince and princess coronation at 5:30 p.m. At 6 p.m. will be a gospel performance by Fishers of Men and Mrs. Weddle on the second stage.
At 7 p.m. the Coppage Family will perform.
Friday, June 9, activities begin at 5 p.m. with the Country Kickers performing. The Straight Shooter band performs at 6, Jackson Snelling takes the stage at 7 p.m. and the Keith Swinney Band performs at 8 p.m. to close out the evening festival.
Saturday, June 10, events start early with registration at 7 a.m. for the Carl Bowman Memorial 5K Run Walk and Kids (ages 6-12) 1 mile run. Registration takes place and the event begins at the flagpole in front of the school.
Saturday morning breakfast is being served at Hamacher Hall from 8-10 a.m.
The Phi Beta Psi Sorority Baby contest registration begins a 9 a.m. in the small gym. Entry fee is $10. The Car Show registration for all makes & models from Beaters to Beauties will be held at the same time at Bard Street Park.
Baby contest gets underway at 10 a.m. with winners being announced from the main stage at 10:30 a.m.
The Crothersville VFW will host a cakewalk at 11 a.m. with Southern Indiana Cloggers performing at noon.
The annual Red, White & Blue Festival parade steps off from Bard Street at 1:30 p.m. and will follow the traditional route of west to US 31, south to the fire station, east on Moore then north of Preston Street through the festival grounds.
At 5 p.m. On The House Band will perform and Steve DeWeese will take to the stage at 7 p.m. Local band Mudslide will close out the stage entertainment before a fireworks show at Bard Street Park puts a finale to the festival.
