Crothersville’s Red White & Blue Festival is known as Indiana’s most patriotic festival saluting the nation’s flag and honoring veterans. During the four-day festival the population of the small southeastern Jackson County community will double its population with family and friends eager to enjoy the first festival of the season in Jackson County.
This year’s festival will be June 11-14 on the school grounds.
Take a family reunion, combine it with a Fourth of July picnic, sprinkle in a dash of amusement park and stir with some hometown pride and you have the ingredients of a patriotic festival.
Back in 1976 all communities were encouraged to organize some sort of Bicentennial birthday party to commemorate the nation’s 200th birthday. Now nearly 50 years later, Crothersville still celebrates.
Aware that a lot of other communities would be planning events around July 4th Crothersville choose Flag Day weekend. The Red White & Blue Festival has been held the second weekend of June ever since.
Bluegrass Rides Carnival opens the festival on Wednesday, June 11, at 5 p.m. Ride bracelets now available for $15 at The Peoples Bank until June 9.
