There’s a nip in the air, Armstrong Street is lined with holiday banners and the Crothersville community will officially welcome the Christmas season this Saturday, Nov. 30, with a variety of family oriented events.
The Lions Club will be organizing a Christmas parade that will step off at 5:30 p.m.
According to Lions Club member Brenda Holzworth, parade participants will assemble beginning at 5 p.m. at the Christian Church at the corner of Oak & Preston Streets, parade south to Howard Street and go west to the parking lot across from Lucille’s.
“We invite local residents and chaperoned children to walk in the parade,” said Holzworth.
The “Christmas in the ‘Ville” celebration will continue at 6:30 p.m. with the lighting of the town Christmas tree at the Methodist Church commons at the stoplight.
Following the tree lighting at 7 p.m. will be ‘Cookies and Carols’ at Hamacher Hall hosted by the Crothersville Town Players.
Residents taking part in the ‘Cookies and Carols’ will be given a ticket when the enter Hamacher Hall giving them a chance to win one of four gift certificates totaling $100, Holzworth said.
The drawing, sponsored by the Lions Club, will conclude the evening’s festivities.
