The Crothersville Town Council took quick action to add a newly annexed street to an ordinance restricting semi-trucks when thy met June 6.
County Road 1150, known locally as Frontage Road along I-65, will be off limits to semi-tractor trailers from the eastern entrance to Sims Bark to County Road 600 S (Moore Street). The council suspended the rules and approved the ordinance unanimously on two readings.
But action on a new town tornado siren was tabled again in order to get an additional price quote. ERS Wireless gave a bid of $52,500 to replace the 50-year-old former fire siren to notify residents of impending tornadoes.
Councilman Jamy Greathouse suggested the town get a second quote from Capital Electronics in Indianapolis. Greathouse said the firm is used by the City of Seymour.
Trying to re-assure residents, Clerk-Treasurer Danieta Foster said, “The tornado siren is currently working. It is not an emergency (to replace it).”

Prior to that decision the council approved ”grandfathering” as existing use a roughly 20 acre farm owned by James & Sandra Caudill on County Road 600 S.
