The Crothersville Community School board of trustees hired Clint Waskom as
the new varsity boys basketball coach when the board met Monday evening.
Waskom is a language arts instructor at the local school for the past 2
years, is a graduate of Brownstown Central High School, and resides north of
Tampico. He begins his coaching duties immediately with the summer athletic
program.
The board appointed former school board member Ralph Hillenburg to fill the
unexpired term of Kendra Smith who resigned after she moved from the school
district. Five residents of the district (the area inside the town limits
east of US 31) submitted letters of interest.
In other business, the board approved allowing the Crothersville Lions Club
Red, White & Blue Festival to use the school grounds for next month’s
community festival.
Because property tax bills will be late this year resulting in a delay is
property tax revenue, the board approved extending the current temporary
loan from June 30 to Dec. 31, 2009.
In other matters, the board approved re-hiring all non-certified personnel
for the 2009-2010 school year and accepted the resignation of Terry Richey
as junior high volleyball coach and elementary girls basketball coach.
