Crothersville Elementary School Principal Claude Morgan announced his retirement at the end of the school year, and it became official last Wednesday when the local school board met to handle other personnel matters.
Morgan served 31 years in the education sector for the past 17 years, as principal of Crothersville Elementary School.
The board approved hiring Misti Wieneke as special education teacher for the junior-senior high school.
Summer custodial and student help were also put in place. Sherry Harris, Ryan Canada, Tracy Hougland and Connie Hoskins will serve custodial duties, while six students were hired to help.
Summer sports camp positions were also approved. They will be Zabrina Nicholson for volleyball, Andy Nehrt for girls basketball and Jim Stewart for boys basketball.
