The City of Austin has decided to cease the large item drop off dump site located at the Street/Sanitation Department beginning in February, it was announced last week.
The last days to take items to the dump site will be Friday and Saturday, January 19 and 20.
The city plans to host a spring and fall clean-up which will assist in giving citizens the opportunity to get rid of large unwanted items at those times.
Recyclables can still be dropped off each Friday at the same location from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and there is no charge for this service.
