Crothersville Community Schools will be holding a “Night of Colors” on February 3 in conjunction with the Tigers basketball game with Henryville.
The purpose of this is to bring awareness to all the various forms of cancer, said CHS teacher Ryan Canada.
The boys will be showing their support by wearing pink socks and the cheerleaders as well as the girls’ basketball teams will also be showing their support by wearing cancer awareness shirts.
“There will be several opportunities for members of the community to show their support including: purchasing t-shirts, participating in a silent auction, purchasing cancer related merchandise, and making donations,” said Canada. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
There will be silent auction with items including: Crothersville student artwork, autographed pink basketballs, autographed Toby Keith picture, $30 Tumbleweed gift card, homemade deserts, cancer poem – “I AM A Survivor”, and a number of late arrivals.
“We hope the Crothersville community will come out to support this worthy cause,” said Canada.
In order to build support for the “Night of Colors” students are asked to wear to classes next week: Monday, wear something green; Tuesday, wear something blue; Wednesday, wear something yellow; Thursday, wear something red; Friday – Wear something pink.
