The Jackson County Public Library board of trustees looked at the preliminary 2026 operating fund budget numbers when the group met on Monday, Aug. 18, at the Crothersville Library. The proposed budget is available on the Indiana Gateway (https://gateway.ifionline.org/). The public hearing on the budget is at the regular board meeting on September 15, and the adoption is at the regular board meeting on Oct. 20.
Crothersville resident Chad Wilson completed his oath of office at the meeting. Wilson replaced Eunice Lacey as the appointment to the board by the Brownstown, Crothersville, and Medora school boards through December 2027.
During the meeting, the board approved a staff appointment, changes to the purchasing and access to public records policies, and out-of-state travel for three staff members to attend the Public Library Association Conference in Minneapolis April 1-3, 2026.
The board’s next meeting and the public hearing on the 2026 budget is at 4:30 pm on Monday, Sept. 15, at the Seymour Library.
