As the year 2008 and celebrate the closing of our 150th year of Crothersville, the Crothersville Area Revitalization and Development (CARD) Committee would like to thank everyone for their support, help and dedication this past year.
“We would like to take this opportunity to recap this past year and answer some questions that some have asked. CARD was established in August 2007, as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, with the help of the Community Foundation of Jackson County,” said spokesperson Tracy Karnes.
Since our establishment we have sponsored the Crothersville Sesquicentennial Celebration, 5K Run/Walk and the Parade, decorated the Stop light area, sponsored an attendee to the Cornelius O’Brien Conference, purchased the Community Christmas tree and sponsored Santa and the lighting of the tree at the Stoplight, met with the Red, White & Blue Festival committee, and submitted a Basket for the Senior Citizens.
Some of our upcoming sponsorships and activities will be the Neighborhood Eyes program and the Sesquicentennial Pictorial Book that will be available in the Spring of 2009.
This Saturday, Dec. 6, we will be having Santa visit with children who didn’t get to see him earlier From 3-5 p.m. Santa will be at Town Hall. Bring a camera and come give him your last minute request and have your picture taken before he flies back to the North Pole.
CARD welcomes any suggestions or comments that you might want to share with helping to develop or encourage our community to bring pride, beauty and prosperity to our residents. Comments can be mailed to CARD, PO Box 52 Crothersville, IN 47229.
CARD officers are President, Tracy Karnes; Vice-President, Cheryl Dorsey; Secretary, Brenda Holzworth; Treasurer, Linda Seals; and Promoter, Nalona Bush.
