Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor Terry Goodin and 9th District Congressional candidate Tim Peck, MD will join a coalition of nine rural candidates for the Indiana House of Representatives tomorrow (Thursday), Aug. 15, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Scott County Family YMCA.
Trish Whitcomb of District 69 and Jennifer David of District 66 two candidates representing portions of Scott and Jackson County have helped organize the meet and greet event.
“This is a great opportunity for Jackson and Scott County residents to talk individually with candidates running for state and national office this November,” said Whitcomb. “I am really looking forward to our gathering and listening to what’s on people’s minds.”
Nine statehouse candidates are taking part in the Out Of Many, One rural summit tour. The nine candidates represent 22 geographically connected rural counties in southern Indiana. In addition to Whitcomb and David they include Kurtis Cummings (Dist 46), Michael Potter (Dist. 47). Michelle Higgs (Dist 60), Thomas Horrocks (Dist. 62), Teresa Kendall (Dist. 63, Sarah Blessing Dist. 70), and Hollie Payton (Dist. 73).
The event is free and open to the public. The Scott County YMCA is located at 805 Community Way in Scottsburg.
