After a several year hiatus, a Saturday night fireworks display may be returning to the Crothersville Red, White & Blue Festival.
“If there is sufficient financial interest and contributions to allow it to happen,” said RWB Festival Director Sherry Bridges.
This year’s patriotic salute will be June 12-14 around the Crothersville Community School ground.
Fireworks, a festival ending salute, was discontinued several years ago because of the cost of fireworks and insurance.
“We are hoping to put together a 15-20 minute fireworks climax to this year’s festival. The cost of such a show is $4,000,” said Bridges.
“If local residents want to see fireworks we need to quickly see the level of their support with their checkbooks,” said Bridges.
Bridges said businesses are already contributing to the festival so whether or not there is fireworks will be determined by local residents.
Checks in any amount can be made payable and sent to the Red, White & Blue Festival, PO Box 102, Crothersville, IN 47229. Write “Fireworks” in the memo line.
