Some last minute resignations prompted a mid-day special meeting of the Board of Trustees of Crothersville Community Schools on Friday.
Educator vacancies forced the board to fill openings before the start of school this week.
The board accepted the resignation of Jr.-Sr. high Special Education teacher Misty Wieneke and 1st grade teacher Amy Crawford.
They approved hiring Tim Crane of Louisville as the Special Education instructor.
Acting on the recommendation of Elementary Principal Chris Marshall, Crawford’s position was not filled. Instead Megan Bohall was moved from Elementary Special Education teacher to 1st grade instructor. Dustin Marshall was transferred from part-time Title I instructor to part-time elementary special education instructor.
In non-certified hiring, Dawn Wooten was hired as Special Education aide, Megan Lucas as full-time teacher aide and Linda Luedeman as part-time teacher aide. Judy Brown was hired as part-time cook in the cafeteria.
Extra-curricular vacancies were also filled. Christina Kilgore and Dennis Maxie were hired as 6th grade sponsors, Ryan Canada as 11th grade sponsor, and Ashley Spicer was hired as a middle school volleyball coach.
