A 43-year-old Austin woman was arrested by Indiana State and Austin City Police officers last Thursday on charges of failing to register as a sex offender.
Mary Whitfill of 450 Johnson Lane in Austin was arrested on a Scott Superior Court warrant, according to Det. Brian Busick of the Indiana State Police.
The charges alleged Whitfill was not complying by sex offender registry rules by purportedly staying at two different residences in the Austin without registering both of the addresses in the sexual offender registry.
Shortly after 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, police went a residence on Factory Drive in Austin and located Whitfill.
She was incarcerated in Scott County Jail.
